SUBJECT: Ocean Protection Council: November 28 meeting
As chair of the California Ocean Protection Council (OPC), I would like to announce that the next OPC meeting will be held November 28, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 4203 of the State Capitol, Sacramento, California. The Capitol is located at the corner of 10th Street and Capitol Mall in downtown Sacramento. The meeting agenda will be available at http://resources.ca.gov/copc/ by November 18 and briefing documents will be posted by the meeting date.
The California Ocean Protection Council was established pursuant to the requirements of the California Ocean Protection Act signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger in 2004. In addition to my position as chair, the OPC consists of State Lands Commission Chair State Controller Steve Westly, Secretary for Environmental Protection Linda Adams, and two ex officio members, Senator Sheila Kuehl and Assemblymember Pedro Nava. The OPC will help coordinate and improve the protection and management of California’s ocean and coastal resources.
